An American trans man of Iranian origin goes back in time, to the LGBTQ+ archive, to understand his sexuality. He faces his past and present during an erotic journey of self-discovery. This is a documentary about transgender gays who are transitioning from female to male and from female to male. It is mainly about life after the transition, paying little attention to the transition process itself. Also, we are talking about those whose physical orientation is inclined towards men. There are two main categories of subjects. One of them is Lou Sullivan, an F-to-M trans activist who was also a pioneer in identifying as gay. It is represented by numerous excerpts from interviews that he gave on television, as well as recordings by one of his correspondents. The second is a series of interviews with various transgender people of different body types and anatomy – one subject, identified as male, insisted on preserving his vagina. They often have problems finding partners for intimate relationships, although Trans nights in gay baths help them a lot because they don’t have to explain themselves. It is wrapped in a narrative drama. A courageous trans-American of Iranian descent (who left Iran soon after the revolution) goes to a queer archive in Chicago to conduct research, and a young trans-worker befriends him. The Iranian point of view is strengthened by discussions about the Iranian “omelet”. a dish This hybrid approach added interest and made you feel something more than the dryness of a simple documentary. I saw it as part of a film festival with the participation of the actors and the director. The director mentioned that the Iranian actor helped make a short “proof of concept”. to request funding, and was continued with the addition of Iranian elements to the script. The second actor was an activist in his own right, and his role was written with him in mind.
